  • 3rd of December: David leaves Bankeryd/Jönköping for the DRC, travelling with Ethiopian Airlines via Addis Abeba.
  • 5th of December: David leaves Kinshasa from the airport of Ndolo to go with local airline Kin Avia to the city Bandundu. After arriving at Bandundu, David continues to the village Bendela, crossing the big Kasai river and continuing to the small town Semendua where he sleeps before continuing to the city Tolo the next day. The road from Bendela to Semendua is currently not passable for anything but motorcycles because of bad erosion damages. The motorcycle ride from Bandundu to Semendua took around 7 hours, a distance of around 140 km.
  • 6th of December: David leaves Semendua to continue to the Tolo, crossing the Lukenie river at the port of Bellewe. He arrives after 4 hours, having experienced a flat tire on the way. After arriving in Tolo, the journey continues to the village Boliano where the agroforestry is examined and the payments are performed corresponding to the number of trees planted. In Boliano, most of the agroforestry uses a combination of wenge trees, cacao trees and soy beans. The following new crops are added to the agroforestry activities in the area: soy beans, wangila (Sesamum Indicum), madesu (Phaseolis Vulgaris), and mbuengi (Vigna Unguiculata).
  • Other common crops used in the agroforestry are for example manioc, maize, peanuts and mbika (pumpkin or squash seeds, they are often used for traditional local dishes like flour porridge).
