With this approval, we are now moving quickly into the Validation & Verification phase, the final step before full certification.
This means that many exciting activities are now taking place in the villages of the DRC, including:
- Tree planting
- Expansion of tree nurseries
- Planting of crops
- Community-driven initiatives
- Measuring the progress of the first year’s activities
We are thrilled to see the progress on the ground, and we will continue to share updates as we move closer to achieving Gold Standard certification.
In addition to this milestone, we have made progress in the DRC
- Harvest from the Soya fields.
- Continuation of the work with the plant nurseries in the five villages.
- Continuation of the work with taking care of the planted trees in the agroforestry in the five villages.
- Study of finding suitable solar lamps for the villages started. See examples of proposed solar lamps for the first year.
- Collecting of books and other essential learning equipment for the schools to be sent to the 5 villages in March.
