UES continues with help with preparing the tractor and trailer to be sent to the city of Tolo to help the project sites with transportation according to SDG 9. The tractor with trailer arrives in Tolo in beginning of July.
Collaboration with the local authorities and the aviation company MAF to make the airstrip that hasn’t been functioning for 20 years working in the future. A functioning airstrip will make evacuation for enable people with urgent health care issues to be able to be evacuated quickly.
Harvest from the Soya fields. Continuation of the work with the plant nurseries in the five villages.
Good meetings with representatives of the embassies of Norway and Sweden. A trip to our project with them is planned to be executed in November 2024.
Payment for plant nurseries performed and the check up on the ground shows good progress in the activities. Some payment remains to be done. It was very important with the presence of David in the project area so that confidence amongst the population can continue to be strong and the coordination between the DRC and Sweden strengthened.
Collaboration started with 3 additional villages in the Luabu sector. These are to be added in terms of plant nurseries and agroforestry activities. Seeds for diversified and improved crops will be given will be provided to them in September.
The advisory board in the DRC has been created and the first meeting performed. The advisory board was very impressed by our activities and how long we have come, in just a few months’ time.
Partnerships created in the “Chefferie de Batere”, (totale 165 600 hectares in the Chefferie). 10-40 villages will be included in a separate project that will be sent in to Gold Standard in 2025, this will involve around 40 000 – 140 000 hectares and the possibility to perform agroforestry in around 5 000 – 20 000 hectares, a potential ten times larger than the area of our agroforestry activities in the Luabu sector, as sent in to Gold Standard.
Potential partnerships created in the “Territory of Oshwe” and the Lokolama and Lukenie “collectivités, (totale 2 500 000 hectares in these “Collectivités”). These would involve coming partnerships for at least around 1 000 000 hectares and the possibility to perform agroforestry in around 50 000 hectares, 25 times larger than the area of our agroforestry activities in the Luabu sector, as sent in to Gold Standard for now. These partnerships could be started up during the years 2025-2030 if there will be an interest in the project and its carbon credits amongst the clients.
